The thing is, though, I've never actually seen the villainous side of my character. Sure, he might say some odd thing every so often, but he's never really done anything bad.

And the other thing that's kind of fascinating about this interview? I mean, you know I love him, and I love Leoben, but this is actually the only interview with him where I kind of... zoned off in the middle because sometimes? Actors talking about their job can be really, really boring. (I know, I know. /c\ But, honest, that thing with "I tried to illustrate this with my acting choice here"... um.)

Why aren't we surprised?

When Leoben was stabbed that first time at the dinner table I decided I wanted the character to die like a goldfish gasping for air
Reading this plus the blooper of the scene kind of ruined it for me - I can't help thinking about the goldfish or Katee's giggles when I watch it!

I think it's because it's one of those things that's hard to articulate. And really, I'm not so sure that he does some of the things he does consciously. I think a lot of it is instinct.
